A little Navy in a hot aera !!!

Of the entire Brunei land aera, 8+% were of waters (rivers/lakes).
Coastlines: 161 kilometers (100 mi), 500 square kilometers (193 sq mi) of territorial waters, a up to 25 427 km2 Of EEZ claimed.

3 Darussalam
(Darussalam, Darulehsan, Darulaman), 80 meters (German OPV design). Commissioned by 2011.

Mid Shore Patrol Vessels
4 Itjihad
(Itjihad, Berkat, Syafaat, Afiat). 41 meters (German MPV design). Commissioned by 2010.

3 Fast Attack Missile Crafts (no longer in service)
3 Waspada
(Waspada, Pejuang, Seteria). 150/200 tons, 37 meters (British 1970’s FAC design). Commissioned by 1978/1979. Waspada & Pejuang apparently transferred to the Indonesian Navy during 2011 ?

3 ? In-Shore Patrol Boat
3 Perwira ???
(Perwira, Penyerang, Pemburu). 30+ tons, 21+ meters. Commissioned by 1974/1975, now no longer in service.

4 Small Amphibious Crafts
2 Serasa (LCM/LCT)
(Serasa, Teraban). 330+ tons, 36+ meters (1990’s Australian built). Commissioned by 1996.

2 Teraban (LCM)
(Damuan, Puni). 64+ tons, 22+ meters (1970’s British built). Commissioned by 1976/1977.

Others
1 burong Nuri (Tug/Diver Tender)
(Burong Nuri). 20+ tons, 17+ meters, built by 1982.


Up to 17 small riverine patrol boats ?
3/5 tons, 5 meters.

BRUNEI MARINE POLICE (1750, included land/air personnel)
+/- 23 In Shore Patrol Boats
3 Bendeharu

(Bendeharu, Maharajalela, Kemaindera). 60+ tons, 28+ meters. Commissioned by 1991.

Seven 14,5 meters
(PDB 11/15, 63, 68). 20 tons, 14+ meters. Commissioned by 1987.

11 PDB 0-1
(PDB 01/11), commissioned by 1987.

2 FDB 512
(Behagia, Selmat). 8+ tons, 12+ meters (british built).

4 Personnal Launches (riverine patrols)
(Aman, Damai, Sentosa, Sejahteru).

FISHERIES & INDUSTRY MINISTRIES
Some 16 meters patrol Boats.

BRUNEI NAVAL AVIATION (in fact Brunei Air Force)
Aircrafts:
- 1 CN 235M (Maritime Patrol).
Helicopters:
- Some S-70 Blackhawk, Bo-105, Bell 212, Bell 214 able to be used as a Patrol/SAR ops.

As usual, It may be that in my opinion, I forgot programs ? (or made few mistakes ?, especially for the auxiliary and smaller ships), then SAID IT ! Feel free to comment and give your opinion !

  1. The two FAC's (missile) KDB Waspada and KDB Pejuang were by April 2011 to be transferred to the Indonesian navy, and used as training vessels. Waspada will be renamed KRI Salawaku (642), and Pejuang will be renamed KRI Badau (643). Maybe third vessel transferred as well to be used for spare parts?
